“Magic mirror, on the wall—who’s the fairest of them all?” The famous line from Snow White comes to mind when pondering a selection of three custom-designed mirrors that Fleur Home is auctioning to raise money for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.
Timed to coincide with the opening of the 2021 Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas, the New Orleans-based home furnishings company teamed up with three Show House veterans—Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Alexa Hampton, and Michelle Nussbaumer—to create unique mirrors inspired by each designer’s fabric collections. All proceeds from the sale of each mirror will be donated to the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.
Fleur Home’s mirror auction is the latest reflection of the long-standing bond between the design industry and the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.
“Kips Bay [Show House] is a coming together of great design talents who let their decorative fantasies run wild for the delight of visitors to the properties who, in turn, joyously support a very worthy cause,” says Bullard. “I love to support Kips Bay because it is such an integral part of the design experience in New York, Dallas, and Palm Beach. They give so much to us, it is imperative that we give back to them,” adds Hampton.
Designer collaborations are nothing new to Fleur Home, which, along with marketing several lines dreamed up with other creatives, strives to work closely with designers on custom creations for their clients.
“At Fleur, we want to help designers revive the joy of a collected feel by creating one-of-a-kind objets that celebrate their passion for well-appointed rooms while standing the test of time,” says founder Natalie Erwin. “Fleur Home was born to bring artful craftsmanship and customizable options to designers who may otherwise have to depend on mass-produced items to achieve their interior aspirations.”
Fleur Home first debuted the mirrors at Ceylon et Cie, Nussbaumer’s interiors and accessories shop in the Dallas design district. Says Nussbaumer about the collaboration: “It is always great when we see the design community come together to support such a worthy cause such as Kips Bay….There is no beauty without giving.”
Cast your bid for one—or more!—of these beautiful mirrors here. The auction closes Friday October 1.
